Each night, we recharge our phones, laptops and tablets… why not our hearing aids? In recent years, most of the major hearing aid manufacturers have introduced new or improved rechargeable options. Rechargeable hearing aids are great for many reasons. With rechargeable hearing aids, the need to purchase and replace batteries is eliminated, which is great for your wallet and the planet. On top of this, rechargeable hearing aids require less dexterity, since the need to open and replace itty bitty batteries no longer exists. In terms of rechargeable hearing aids, there are many incredible options currently on the market. We’ve rounded up this list of some of our favorite selections.
Phonak Audéo BR – The Phonak Audéo BR was one of the first lithium-ion rechargeable hearing aids to hit the market, and is to this day one of the more popular options in the rechargeable category. Lithium-ion is the same type of battery used to power your cell phone, and are therefore able to offer a longer battery life. In fact, the Audéo lasts an incredible 24 hours on one charge, including up to 80 minutes of wireless streaming.
Signia Cellion Primax – The Cellion Primax by Signia has an extremely powerful battery life as well. With just a four-hour charge, the Cellion Primax can last 24 hours – including unlimited wireless streaming. The charging port is also contactless, allowing users to place their aids on the port and begin charging immediately. What makes the Cellion even more special is that it is perfect for those with an active lifestyle. For on-the-go charging, the Cellion comes with a micro USB adapter to allow for charging anywhere with a USB port, including laptops or tablets.
Widex Beyond Z – The Beyond Z from Widex was introduced in the beginning of this year. It is touted as having the lowest battery consumption of any other hearing aid on the market. The Beyond Z offers an entire day of streaming direct from your iPhone. Android users can also stream directly to their Beyond Z hearing aids with a DEX accessory. If you every find yourself without a power outlet or the time to charge your Beyond Z hearing aids, you can simply swap the rechargeable battery for a regular disposable one.
Resound LiNX 3D – The Resound LiNX 3D family of hearing aids now has a rechargeable option. The rechargeable hearing aids come equipped with all of the same features of all LiNX 3D aids, including ReSound’s Binaural Directionality III technology that allows you better follow conversations by detecting speech all around you, not just directly in front of you. Like other rechargeable hearing aids, the LiNX 3D also offers streaming capabilities from smartphones, tablets, and smart TVs.
Oticon Opn MiniRITE – The Opn (pronounced “open”) family of hearing aids has recently added a rechargeable option to their powerful line-up of features. The Opn uses Oticon’s patented BrainHearing technology that has been proven to reduce listening effort for wearers – even in noisy environments. The Opn MiniRITE can be used alongside Oticon’s ConnectClip to stream video chats or movies through your phone or computer. Like other rechargeables, if you forget to charge your hearing aids, with the Opn MiniRITE you can always switch your rechargeable batteries for disposable ones any time.
Starkey Muse iQ – The Muse by iQ is the smallest rechargeable hearing aid with the fastest charging capabilities currently on the market. The Muse iQ also boasts incredible life – up to 30 hours of use with just one charge.
